Burma

I spent 6 fantastic weeks in this country governed by these stupids military peoplebut where I found the most welcoming people that I was able to meet. Certain number of very thinking people considers that it's necessary to boycott this country. With this idea, you shouldn't really go far from our borders. You saw rarely an isolated country becoming emancipated alone. The Burmese people doesn't have to undergo of international boycott, he suffer already from this weak regime. On the contrary, they need tourists' influx to have another sound of bell than official propaganda.
EcoTourisme is fashionable, maybe we could also develop HumanRightTourism. Go to visit this fantastic country (avoid the package tours which give money directly to this regime of shit), take magazines in English (French develops to Mandalay but has not yet gained all the country!) and avoid giving your money to this governement. For that purpose, boycott transport depending on the junta, namely the plane and the train, and avoid visiting the high places of tourism (big pagodae in Yangon and Mandalay). An international student card beforehand bought for example from Khao San Rd in Bangkok (2 Euros and a picture) allows to evade a part of the "donations" for certain sites. Finally, spend your time with this fantastic people (it's indeed the most important!).
